Rotary feeders are best utilized in high-rate applications, feeding simple parts requiring little or no part manipulation. The common style of rotary feeders is dual motion, in which a center disc and an outer tub spin at varying speeds, flat disc rotary feeders which are commonly used when no part orientation is required, and scallop feeders, which is a variation of a dual motion rotary feeder that seats parts into scallop pockets.
